This is sad that bigots may force the imam not to open the community center. This is just like the days of the civil rights movement. People should not be pushed give their constitutional rights due to the sensitivities of bigots and the politicians who exploit their ignorance for selfish political motives. I hope he fights on and defeats these bigots like African Americans did during the civil rights movement. Do not give bigots a victory. Defend our constitution. To give in is to weaken freedom for all. Constitutional rights are not subject to a popularity contest or given up because of someones sensitivities. Even leading conservative columnist George will has said that people "need to get over their sensitivities in a democracy". At least this one time, George Will was right.
