For most people, I knew who smoked it was a phase in their lives starting in their teens and ending in their forties are fifties. In my experience it was less detrimental than having a couple of beers every day. Marijuana smoking can be a habit, not a physical addiction. People are functional while smoking marijuana daily. I have seen this pattern of use repeat itself since the 1960s. I am far more concerned with alcohol and pharmaceutical prescription abuse.
