Chaffetz: Conway Pushing Ivanka’s Clothing ‘Unacceptable’ - The Daily Beast

"Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), the chairman of the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee, said on Thursday that top White House aide Kellyanne Conway’s promotion of Ivanka Trump’s clothing line was ‘unacceptable’ and ‘clearly over the line.’ Chaffetz’s condemnation of the apparent violation of government ethics rules comes after the committee’s ranking member, Rep. Elijah Cummings, asked for ‘discplinary action’ to be taken against Conway, who said during an appearance on Fox News, ‘go buy Ivanka’s stuff.’ The clothing line was discontinued by Nordstrom’s, which cited its poor sales performance. Conway, however, took the opportunity to ‘give a free commercial’ and encourage TV viewers to purchase Trump’s goods. Chaffetz also reportedly told NBC News that he and Cummings are ‘jointly going to send a letter to the White House and Office of Government Ethics for a referral’ on disciplinary actions for Conway."
